KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 15, 2015) – Following the twenty-second annual SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge on Friday night, Terry McCarl of Iowa leads the 2015 Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week point standings.  The final night of the nine-night title is Saturday, August 15, with the fifty-fifth annual FVP Knoxville Nationals, presented by Casey’s General Stores.  The $2,500 first-place money and title of Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” will be won after Saturday night’s National Championship feature by one of four drivers: Terry McCarl, Danny Lasoski, Brian Brown, Sammy Swindell.

 

The unofficial top ten in the 2015 Cox Design Iowa Speed Week points after seven nights is as follows:  1., Terry McCarl, 237 points; 2., Danny Lasoski, 232 points; 3., Brian Brown, Sammy Swindell, 214 points (tied); 5., Ian Madsen, 200 points; 6., Kerry Madsen, 185 points; 7., Sheldon Haudenschild, Wayne Johnson, 166 points (tied); 9., Bryan Clauson, 159 points; 10., Justin Henderson, 150 points.

 

This year, the Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week includes nine points-paying sprint car feature races in ten days, August 6-15, between the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville and the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa.  The top three places pay $2,500, $1,000, and $500, respectively, with the winner declared the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist.
