AARON PIERCE COMPLETES WEEKEND SWEEP WITH BAER FIELD VICTORY

FT. WAYNE, Ind. (August 15, 2015) – Completing the weekend sweep, Aaron Pierce earned the victory in the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints return to Baer Field (Ind.) Speedway on Saturday, August 15. Pierce made the race-winning pass on lap 16 with an inside pass on Jerry Caryer entering turn 1.

The 30-lap feature began with Derek Snyder and Jerry Caryer leading the charge into turn one. Caryer used the outside lane to power into the first position and control the opening portion of the event. Bobby Santos settled into second spot with Geoff Kaiser and Kyle Edwards close behind.

While Caryer was leading, Pierce was making his charge from the seventh starting positon. On lap two, Pierce was up to fourth and by lap five he advanced to third position. Then on the 10th circuit, Pierce got around Santos for the second spot.

Six laps later after some close racing in lapped traffic, Pierce dove under Caryer exiting turn 4 and completed the pass on the leader entering turn 1 on the 16th lap. Pierce then pulled away, finishing 6.487 seconds ahead of Caryer. Third at the finish was Kyle Edwards with Geoff Kaiser and Jason Blonde rounding out the top five.

In preliminary action, heat race victories were earned by Kyle Edwards and Bobby Santos Jr. In Hamilton Trucking Qualifications, Aaron Pierce earned his sixth quick time of the season with a lap of 14.564 seconds at 123.592 mph.

The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints return to action on Saturday, August 29 at Auto City (Mich.) Speedway and Saturday, August 30 at Spitzer Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio.
