Hahn Hauls In Creek County Checkers

USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series Top Story

AUGUST 21, 2015… Taking the lead from Brady Bacon on lap 29, Blake Hahn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma scored a popular hometown win at Creek County Speedway. For his efforts, the young driver earned $2,500 for claiming the second round of the USAC SouthWest Sprint Car “Freedom Tour.” Ryan Bernal, Bacon, high point driver Casey Shuman, and Andrew Deal followed Hahn to the checkered flags. Tonight, the “Freedom Tour” heads to 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas.

 

Starting seventh, Blake Hahn piloted his #52 Lucas Oil / CSR Garage Eagle to the first non-winged sprint car triumph of his career. In his second USAC SouthWest start of the year, Hahn finished second to Ryan Bernal in his heat race and ranked seventh in passing points.

 

After starting on the pole position, Hollister, California’s Ryan Bernal fell back to fourth and rebounded to take second at Creek County. Racing Mike Phulps’ #56 Metal Works / Tri-L Mandarin Ranch ART, Bernal won the night’s first 10-lap heat race and placed sixth in passing points. To date, the 2-time USAC Western Classic Champion has two feature wins, two high-point driver awards, three heat race victories, one hard charger award, four top-10 finishes, and 31 feature laps led.

 

Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow took the lead from Andrew Deal on the second lap, but had to settle for third at the checkered flags. Driving his #99 Fatheadz Eyewear XXX, Bacon won the program’s fourth heat race and ranked second in passing points. In limited starts, the USAC National Champion has one feature win, two heat race victories, five top-10 finishes, and 26 feature laps led to his credit.

 

Heading to the main event, Rattlesnake Bend, Arizona’s Casey Shuman was the high-point driver for the second night in a row. Piloting John James’ #4J Top Row Rowdys machine, Shuman won the program’s third 10-lap heat race and scored fourth in the Creek County feature. In two starts, Casey has two heat race victories and two top-10 finishes.

 

Andrew Deal of Caney, Kansas started third, led the opening lap, and finished fifth in the 30-lap feature. Racing the #31D Oil Express entry, the defending Oil Capital Racing Series Champion won the second 10-lap heat race and placed fourth in passing points.

 

After getting a promoter’s option, Waddell, Arizona’s Shon Deskins earned the night’s “Hard Charger / Best Passing Job” honors with a tenth place run from twenty-first. Driving his #20 Mesilla Valley Transportation / Bell Racing Spike, Deskins ran fifth in his heat race and scored fifth in the semi-main. Heading to 81 Speedway, Shon has one hard charger award, six top-10 finishes, and 4 feature laps led on the season.

 

“Chargin” Charles Davis Jr. of Buckeye, Arizona won the 12-lap semi-main. Piloting the Massey Motorsports’ #50 RSS Industries / Rod End Supply RSS, Davis was fifth in his heat race and finished seventeenth in the main event. Entering the third round of the “Freedom Tour,” the five-time Arizona Champion has two feature wins, two high-point driver awards, five heat race victories, one hard charger award, sixteen top-10 finishes, and 55 feature laps led.
