SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (Aug. 31, 2015) – The statistics continue to pile up for Big Game Motorsports driver Danny Lasoski, who won a pair of FVP National Sprint League races, scored three top fives in as many events and claimed his 10th track championship at Knoxville Raceway last weekend.

The Muddy sponsored team has won five of the last eight FVP National Sprint League features and a series-best nine overall this season to build a 970-point lead with only seven races remaining this season.

However, a major storyline from last weekend was the team’s track title at the famed half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa.

“It’s an honor,” Lasoski said. “I wasn’t aware that Tod (Quiring) hadn’t won a championship. We’re so proud we can do that for him. For Guy (Forbrook) and I together that’s seven. We’ve each won three on our own so it’s pretty cool we’ve both won 10 championships there.”

Saturday’s season finale at Knoxville Raceway began with Lasoski qualifying ninth quickest. He charged from fourth to win a heat race before ending the night fourth in the main event.

“We just weren’t on,” he said. “At the end of the day we ran fourth and it wasn’t for a lack of effort. We just didn’t get the job done.”

Big Game Motorsports accomplished its goals the other two nights of the week by reaching Victory Lane, beginning on Friday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo. Lasoski timed in ninth quickest during qualifying. He then won a heat race to earn a spot in the feature redraw.

“A little guy from the crowd drew the No. 2 for us, so that gave us a great starting spot,” he said. “(Terry) McCarl got the jump on us and he was running where I wanted to be. I had to try a different line. We got our car working on a different lane than other guys were working.”

Lasoski took the lead on Lap 13 and he cruised to the triumph.

Just like they began the weekend, the Muddy backed team closed it on Sunday with a trip into the Winner’s Circle during Lasoski’s debut at Angell Park Speedway.

“That was a really nice place and the crowd was amazing,” he said. “It put on a really good show. It was a really fun race.”

Lasoski qualified third quickest and he maneuvered from sixth to second place in a heat race. That locked him into the feature redraw, where a six-car inversion lined him up on the outside of the fourth row for the 30-lap feature.

“I saw what the track people were trying to do,” he said. “They were wanting to make a top and bottom, but they couldn’t make a bottom because the tiller broke. The only way to pass somebody was to wait for a lapped car to hold someone up or get a good restart. We were fortunate to get two good restarts. We got lucky two times in a row.”

Lasoski spent most of the first half of the race in third place before he capitalized on a mid-race restart by throwing a perfectly timed slide job into turns one and two on Tim Kaeding for second. Lasoski repeated the move during a restart several laps later to take the lead, which he never relinquished, on Lap 22.

The win was the team’s 13th of the season.

Big Game Motorsports and Lasoski are scheduled to compete this Friday and Saturday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., for the Jackson Nationals; and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., with the FVP National Sprint League.
