Clico, CA — (September 1, 2015) — For the past five years native California drivers have claimed stake on the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Elk Grove, CA drive Kyle Larson claimed victory in 2011 and 2012 with Jason Myers winning his second Gold Cup in 2013, and Chico, CA driver Jonathan Allard winning the 2014 Gold Cup.

The World of Outlaw full time drivers look to claim the Gold Cup for the first time in four years led by Donny Schatz aboard the Tony Stewart Racing #15 entry. Schatz, the 2004 Gold Cup champion, sits atop the 2015 Outlaws points championship battle and has been the most dominate driver all season, claiming 26 main event wins and 48 top five finishes. Sweet will try to best his 6th place finish in the 2014 Gold Cup. Joining Sweet is Elk Grove, California native Paul McMahan who now calls Nashville, TN home. McMahan looks to put his CJB Motorsports #51 team in victory lane. McMahan is no stranger to winning at Silver Dollar Speedway with 16 career victories to his name with the most recent win coming during the 2013 Mini Gold Cup. McMahan hoped to improve his 10th place run during last year’s Gold Cup.
