Tulsa Okla. (Sept. 8, 2015) – This Saturday night at the Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, Oklahoma, the 9th Annual Oklahoma State Championship race for the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprint cars will hit the racetrack in what is always one of the largest events on the racing calendar. This year’s edition is being presented by Dooling Machine Products.

The OSC race has produced some interesting winners / finishes in it’s tenure. There was the 2011 race where light rain began to fall in the waning laps and race leader Fred Mattox crashed 25 yards from the finish line thus handing the win to area favorite, Gary Owens. Not to be denied, Mattox kept after it and established himself as an OSC champion by winning last year’s event.

In 2009, Andy Shouse held off a feisty Danny Jennings in what was probably the most contested OSC race ever ran as the duo slugged it our till the bitter end. Jennings scored in 2013. Other winners of this event include: Mike Goodman (2007), Danny Smith (2008) and Whit Gastineau, who has 2 OSC wins (2010 & 2012). This years running is up for grabs as Gastineau will look to become the first 3-time winner of the event. Owens has won 3 straight Harold Leep Jr. Memorial races at Oklahoma Sports Park thus he will go off at low odds to win a second OSC race.

Mustang’s Robert Sellers has clinched the 2015 Ameri-Flex / OCRS championship after last weeks race at the Caney Valley Speedway. Sellers can now just pin his ears back and shoot for wins in a ‘go for broke’ style. Shane Sellers is in the same position as his champion father as he has second place in the point standings locked up and can race all out for victories. At press time, entries are still rolling in, but expect a tough field of competitors for this race.

With the support of Dooling Machine Products in this years Oklahoma State Championship, the race will pay $2,000 to win with additional cash offerings in various positions as well. It’s going to be an exciting event and we look forward to seeing everyone there. Race time is at 7:30pm.

Look Ma…. I Did It!
Johnny ‘Hotrod’ Kent finally ‘Parked It’ when he went to victory lane at the Flint Creek Speedway last Friday night. It has been a long time coming for the Tulsa pilot, as there have been several close ones. Kent was a lucky recipient in that a couple of leaders ahead of him had to go pitside with tire woes while pushing off for a restart after an accident during the feature. Don’t explain luck to Hotrod. Kent works as a blackjack dealer at a Tulsa area casino and he knows more about good and bad luck than anyone strapping into a sprinter.

There Ya Go, Ya Got One:
Alex DeCamp won more A-Features than anyone last season with five. Running part-time in 2015 due to personal reasons, DeCamp scored his first win in Ameri-Flex / OCRS competition last Saturday at the Caney Valley Speedway in Kansas. One can only wonder how many 2015 trophies and extra cash would be handed over had DeCamp been able to run all season.

Brothers Stopping By To Play:
Kade and Chance Morton popped in on the Ameri-Flex / OCRS gang Saturday night at Caney Valley. Both were in the top 10 with Chance 7th (from 17th) and Kade finished 10th. It was the first time we have seen the brotherly duo since the first race of the season. “Ya’all come again now ya hear?”

Traffic Jam:
With just the final 2 races left on the 2015 calendar (Tri-State Speedway is on 9/19), there is a crowed points battle for positions 3-7. Brett Wilson sits in third with 1201 points but it’s only 55 markers back to Casey Wills, who sits in seventh. Brent Bates, Zach Chappell and Cameron Hagin are the others caught in traffic.

Alley Cat:
Zach Alley made his 2015 debut with Ameri-Flex / OCRS at Caney Valley (better late than never), Alley won the Shock Doc heat race and scored 11th in the main event. Alley looked a little shocked when he opened the Shock Doc award envelope and found President Grant looking back at him. Got more presidents that want to say hello Mr. Alley.
