(Plymouth, IN)  If you haven’t been to a race at the Playground of Power yet this season, this Saturday may be a good chance to get hooked on dirt track racing.  It’s the World Series of Dirt on Saturday, Sept. 12 and it’s set to feature five classes of racing while benefiting a fellow driver’s recovery.

Kevin Swindell is a four-time Chili Bowl National winner and popular Sprint Car driver.  He sustained injuries in a crash during a qualifying heat race for the Knoxville Nationals on Aug. 13.  Swindell, 26, has since undergone two back surgeries at an Iowa hospital.  He has reportedly been discharged from hospital care.

Swindell also started in 30 NASCAR XFINITY Series races.  He has two ARCA race wins as part of his career statistics.

Saturday night’s 30-lap, 410/360 Winged Sprint event at Plymouth Speedway will also be known as the #BulldogStrong30.  Fans and drivers will be urged to donate funds to aid Swindell on the road to recovery.

Michiana Balloon Rides, LLC will sponsor a $300 bonus to the highest finishing 360 Sprint car during the event.

In addition to the 410/360 Sprints, the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds, WTCA Super Streets, Walmart Thunder Stocks, and Dickies Restaurant 600 Open Sprints will take to the track in fashion for the last time in 2015.  The gates will open at 4 p.m., hot laps begin at 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. ET.
