An extremely successful 2015 campaign at the Placerville Speedway came to a head on Saturday night for Greg DeCaires and his Dale Miller Motorsports team as DeCaires claimed his second consecutive Placerville Speedway Track Championship on the strength of his sixth place finish.
“It wasn’t quite the finish we had hoped for, but it sure feels good to claim another Placerville Speedway Track Championship,” Greg DeCaires said. “Winning another championship is what we set out to do, and it is great to fulfill that goal.”
Hitting the Placerville Speedway for one final time in 2015, DeCaires would be the last car out for time trials, and would end up timing the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Foothill 7 TV/RedHawk Casino No. 4SA machine in 13th fastest.
Racing his way to a fifth place finish, DeCaires would line his Halk Equipment Rentals/NAAKE Suspension/A.R.T. Speed Equipment backed entry up in the fifth row of the 25 lap A Main event.
Able to work his way forward slowly on the tricky ¼ mile bullring, DeCaires would battle inside the Top-10 during the length of the race. In the closing laps, he would pick up a couple of positions, as he climbed into the sixth spot, where he would go on to finish.
Finishing sixth, DeCaires would stop on the front stretch and celebrate his second consecutive Placerville Speedway Track Championship with his Dale Miller Motorsports team.
“It is awesome to have great people step up and throw some bonus money up for winning the title, but this is about family, and coming together to do something you love,” DeCaires added. “I can’t wait to come back here next year and see if we can do this again.”
