Tim Kaeding waited all year to score his first NSL win, but he did it in thrilling fashion on Saturday night as he picked up the win during the season finale as he charged his way from his 14th starting spot.

“I had been saying it the last few weeks, but we were getting stronger each night out, and Saturday night we were able to do something really special, and I am so excited to grab the NSL finale for this entire Lunstra Motorsports team,” Tim Kaeding said.

With the win, Kaeding and his Lunstra Motorsports team were able to cap off a very strong showing with the new NSL, as they would finish third in the 2015 Championship standings.

Gridding the field from the seventh row, TK took a liking to the top side of the I-80 Speedway, as he worked his way forward at will. Running just off the wall, Kaeding was up inside the Top-five in just 10 laps as he chased after race leader, Ian Madsen.

By the 15th lap, Kaeding was all over Madsen and looking for a way around him as he was in search of his first NSL win of the season. On the 17th circuit, Kaeding was able to get to the top spot, as he would fend of Steve Kinser as they raced in traffic.

The race’s lone caution flew on the 26th lap, but Kaeding would not let that slow him down as he led the final four laps to claim the win, and his 2015 season with Lunstra Motorsports in emphatic fashion.

“My motto has always been live and die by the high side, and I sure hope everyone enjoyed that,” Tim Kaeding said. “We have had some bad luck with the NSL this year, and to pick up a win like that, and passing the cars we did, it is very specials. I am just so thankful that Dave Lunstra gave me this opportunity this year, and I am so thankful we had some great companies align themselves with us.”

Friday night, Kaeding and company were also in action for the penultimate night of NSL action, also at the I-80 Speedway.

Qualifying eigth quickest of the 29 cars that were in attendance, Kaeding forge his way to a heat race win from his second row starting position, putting him seventh on the grid for the A Main event.
