  • The Indy Invitational scheduled for Saturday December 12th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse continued their social media marketing blitz yesterday opening up two invitations. Spot #41 in the field will be by fan vote while spot #42 is a random drawing for any car owner that has purchased at least 10 tickets for the event.   • Sprints on Dirt president John Naida will appear on Winged Nation today around 12:00 p.m. EST to discuss the new rules package for the series in 2015. Naida recently spoke with promoters at the Michigan Speedway Promoters Association meeting last week. Click here to listen.
  • I-30 Speedway promoter Tracy Clay indicates the Short Track Nationals as of now on as scheduled. Our last look at the weather forecast shows things are looking better than they did on Sunday.
  • Tony Bruce, Jr. announced yesterday family owned team would be parked in 2016. Bruce is actively looking for a team to drive for in 2016. Bruce indicated to us yesterday that TBJ Promotions is still planning on promoting events in 2016.
  • Winged Nation’s Kenda Jacobs pointed out on Twitter that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule was released there is not a event on NASCAR weekend. I’m sure at least three car owners will be happy to see their teams compete in the Saturday finale of the Nationals without having to worry about rushing back to compete in a Sprint Cup race the following day.
  • With the release of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series schedule Iowa Speedway also announced part of their 2016 slate featuring events in a smaller time frame that in past season. Iowa Speedway officials commented on the shorter time frame to The Gazette citing they want to lead into the State Fair and the Nationals in the The Gazette on Monday.
  • Port Royal’s announced their first event for the 2016 late on Monday. Port Royal officials released that the Bob Weikert Memorial would be expanded to a three day event over Memorial Day Weekend. Originally planned as a two day show, the Weikert Memorial will be held May 28, 29, and 30th. The Port Royal press release did not indicate if sanctioning body would be involved in the 2016 Weikert Memorial. The 2016 Tuscarora 50 dates were release (September 8th and 9th) along with confirmation that the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions would return for events at Port Royal next season. Dates of the Outlaw and All Star programs were not released.
