Brad Sweet knows a thing or two about bringing the World of Outlaws back to a track after a lengthy hiatus. Bringing the World of Outlaws back to Placerville Speedway in 2015, the current World of Outlaws point leader is excited to get to the Bakersfield Speedway on April 15th with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ for the Budweiser Bash.
“I think it is great for our sport to get back to tracks that we haven’t been to in years,” said Brad Sweet, who will again be promoting the World of Outlaws event at the Placervile Speedway on March 23rd. “I know first hand that these events can be huge, and a little nerve racking to put on, so I hope everyone gets to the Bakersfield Speedway and supports this race.”
Sweet, who hails from Cool, CA is off a running with the World of Outlaws after three events thus far in the 2016 season. During the series’ opening weekend in Barberville, FL at the Volusia Raceway Park, Sweet picked up two feature event wins, and a second place finish en route to being crowned the DIRTcar Nationals Champion.
The West Coast swing is a trip Sweet looks forward to on a yearly basis and will look to continue his hot start in front of many family and friends.
Though from California, the Bakersfield Speedway is a track Sweet hasn’t competed at often, in fact he only has one start at the Speedway, and it came in a midget as he climbed the Open Wheel ranks.
“I look forward to racing in California, and am looking forward to getting to a relatively new track for many of us,” Sweet said. “If we can continue to run like we have been it should be a really fun trip.”
Tickets for the Budweiser Bash are now on sale, and fans can purchase their $40 reserved seating seats by calling 1-844-Dirt-Tix (347-8849). General Admission Tickets will be available for $35 while Kids 12-Under will be admitted for just $15.
Those wishing to camp out at the Bakersfield Speedway will be able to do so at no cost, and spots are available on a first come-first serve basis.
On April 15th, the World Of Outlaws Sprint Cars will make their return to the Bakersfield Speedway and the IMCA Modifieds, as well as the IMCA Stock Cars will join them for what should be a great night of racing during the Budweiser Bash.
