With afternoon temps only in the low 50’s and low’s expected to drop into the low 40’s and high 30’s in the evening and with showers creeping into the area, promoters Jason and Kristin Flory cancelled the races for Saturday, April 30th. Last week was sunny and cool but this week with it being cloudy and cooler with the high chance of rain, it would not be a pleasurable night for the fans to watch racing and not a good night for the racer’s to perform at their best.
The month of May will see some big races lined up for all four weeks as the Late Models will kick off the action next Saturday night, May 7th with the second night of the Attica Raceway Park/ NAPA Wayne County Speedway Super Late Model Challenge Series. The Challenge Series will start the night before at ARP. Both races will pay $1,200 to win. Last season Wooster’s Doug Drown won all six features to take the title. The Kar Connection Rush Late Models will run the first of their ‘Summer Series’ races that was rained out this past week with $800 going to the feature winner. It will also be a regular night of racing for the Fisher Performance Sprints, the Action Auto Body Super Stocks and the WQKT Mini Stocks and the Flat Track Carts.
The newly formed Ohio Sprint Car Series will make their first appearance at NAPA WCS on Saturday, May 14th as the winner will pocket $2,500. All regular class’ will also be in action for another points night of racing.
The next Saturday, May 21st will see a doubleheader of Sprint car racing as the BOSS Wingless Sprints will make the 1st of two visits to NAPA WCS as the Fisher Performance Sprints will also be in action. The Action Auto Body Super Stocks and the Kar Connection Rush Late Models are on the racing card for the night as the Harriger Towing Super Late Models and the WQKT Mini Stocks take the night off.
The month of May will wind up with the return of Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Sprints along with the Sweeney Rush Late Model Touring Series on Saturday, May 28th. Wooster’s Jac Haudenschild swept the All Stars back on April 16th to collect the $5,000 first place money which will be up again for the winner. Winning the Sweeney Rush race will be worth $1,500.
All races except for the Boss Wingless Sprints will be regular points races for NAPA Wayne County Speedway points championship.
