OSWEGO, NY (May 5, 2016) – A new weekly cash contingency has been added to the Novelis Supermodified division at Oswego Speedway in 2016 with the introduction of the Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing ‘Last Car on Lead Lap Award.’
At each of the Speedway’s regular season Novelis Supermodified events, starting with the Speedway’s season opener on Saturday, May 14, the last driver running on the lead lap at the conclusion of the night’s main event will receive an additional $50 in his or her prize money check, courtesy of XSTSR.
“We are pleased to be able to help out the drivers each week at the prestigious Oswego Speedway,” said Art Palmer, co-owner of XSTSR. “This helps to provide us a platform to promote our sim racing community and we have a very tight knit group of guys who are from Ohio and Oswego and many have been to Oswego Speedway. With racers from 18 states, our goal is to give Oswego Speedway Supermodifieds the exposure they deserve. Being a leader in the paved sim racing has been our priority from the beginning. With the completion of our Oswego Supermodified mod as well as an extremely accurate version of Oswego Speedway, we felt now was the best time to complete the circle and help out the drivers as best we could.”
Formed in June of 2014 by Palmer, Shane Gott and Dave Soja, Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing is a fun group of racers who like to race the latest and newest rFactor Gott/JCR racing mods at all of their favorite racing tracks, including Oswego Speedway.
The group recently completed a new Oswego Supermodified design and will begin their Oswego sim schedule on Sunday, May 15.
“As a former Supermodified racer myself, I can say that these newly designed Oswego Supermodifieds for XSTSR are absolutely amazing,” said Oswego Speedway PR Director, Dan Kapuscinski. “They even went far enough to design five different Oswego chassis including the Xtreme, Gioia, two versions of the Hawk Supermodified, as well as a Muldoon chassis.”
