Bruce Jr. Takes Advantage of Late-Race Restart to Win GoMuddy.com NSL 360 NCRA/NSL Region Event at 81 Speedway

PARK CITY, Kan. (May 28, 2016) – Tony Bruce Jr. capitalized on a late-race restart to claim the GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 NCRA/NSL Region victory on Saturday at 81 Speedway.

Bruce Jr. advanced from his sixth starting position to second place before a caution with six laps remaining for a red flag for Don Droud Jr., who flipped while running third. Following the restart Bruce Jr. passed C.J. Johnson, who led the majority of the 25-lap main event, for the lead en route to his first win with the series.

Johnson held on for second with Jordon Mallett charging from 12th to third place. J.D. Johnson ended fourth and Jeremy Campbell maneuvered from 11th to fifth.

Droud Jr., Ryan Roberts, J.D. Johnson and Tyler Drueke each won a heat race with Chris Morgan capturing the B Main.

The GoMuddy.com NSL 360 NCRA/NSL Region will return to action with a doubleheader on June 17 at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., and June 18 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan.

CASH BOWL –

The GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Series has more than $500,000 up for grabs during the 2016 season. The series established the ‘Cash Bowl’ in an effort to allow racers from across the country a great opportunity to generate money. Any driver who competes in at least one national race and 15 regional races or 90 percent of any region’s events is eligible for the Cash Bowl, which pays $10 per point. The final night of a national event provides 120 points to win and eight points to start the main event. Regional races deliver 30 points to win and two points to start.

Additionally, the top five drivers in overall national and regional points at the end of the 2016 season will split more than $50,000 in bonus money with the national champion pocketing $20,000.
