– With weather changing the Keneric Racing team’s weekend plans, Kerry madsen made the most of it as he turned in a dominating performance at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night as he clean swept the National Sprint League program.

“The guys really gave me a great car,” Kerry Madsen explained. “They worked their guts off all day to get that thing ready.”

With 28 cars checked into the pit area on Saturday night, the St. Marys, NSW driver got things kicked off by earning quick time honors during qualifying time trials. Finding himself in the third row of his heat race, the Australian Champion had his elbows up as he carved his way through the field and picked up the win.

With the six inversion in play for the feature event, ‘The Mad Man’ would grid the field from the third row, and would waste no time moving to the front during the 20-lap A Main event.

Following a brief delay in the action with the lights going out, Madsen found himself battling with Brian Brown for the fourth spot on the ½ mile speedway. On the fifth lap, Madsen would make a big time move that would see him clear both Brown and Crag Dollansky to take over the third spot as his sights were now set on fellow Australian’s, Brooke Tatnell and his younger brother, Ian.

Getting into the second spot on the eighth lap, a little sibling rivalry would excite the fans up front as the two Madsen brothers battled for the top spot with Kerry getting the spot a lap later aboard his Keneric Health Care/Keneric Racing/American Racing Wheels backed No. 29 machine.

Out front, Kerry would continue his torrid pace as he would lead the second half of the race with no issues to en route to his second NSL win of the 2016 season.

“Fortunately we started in the third row and had to move around a little bit,” Madsen added. “I was able to find the line and it really paid off for us. We love the Knoxville Raceway, and we love to get here because it is a great place.”

Madsen and company were also in action with the World of Outlaws Craftsmen Sprint Car Series on Wednesday night where he had another great run.

Wednesday night saw the team check in at the Granite City Speedway following Tuesday’s rain out. Timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Madsen would pick up the win in his heat race from his front row starting position before racing his way to a win in the night’s dash.

Leading the field to green, Madsen would jump out to the early lead as Shane Stewart chased after him. Setting a torrid pace out front, Madsen would find himself in traffic and would find himself in a dog fight with Stewart for the top spot.

With the duo exchanging the position for two laps, Stewart would clear Madsen on the 11th circuit. A late restart saw Stewart, Madsen and Brad Sweet battle for position, and as the top three fought hard during a short run to end the race, Madsen would close his night out with a third place finish.

Following his Saturday night triumph, Madsen and his Keneric Racing team followed the NSL to the Mason City Motor Speedway to close out the week.

Setting his night up well by timing in second fastest in time trials, Madsen would move from fourth to second in heat race action before lining up in the third spot of the feature event.

Having a strong run in the ‘A’, Madsen would find himself in the second spot and chasing down race leader, Danny Lasoski but a spin late in the race would see him slip back and finish in the seventh spot.

“All in all it was a decent weekend for our team,” Madsen said. “We had a fast racecar all three nights out, and were up front each night as well. My guys are working very hard and we are getting things going at the right time of the year. We couldn’t do this with out the support we get from the Gavranich family and our partners, so we certainly appreciate all they do.”
