Susquehanna, PA — (June 25, 2016) — Devin Beidel raced to his first career win in Saturday night’s 25-lap Credit Connection Auto Sales Super Sportsman feature at Susquehanna Speedway.
Aboard the Reinford Landscapes, Country Butcher Shop/Weston’s Lawn Care/Pickney Racing Engines/Hilton Lock Service No. 19, the Newville, PA driver started fourth on the grid and raced past early race leader Lanny Hake with three laps complete.
Once taking the top spot, Beidel was able to keep the rest of the field at bay as he scored that elusive first career win.
Scott Dellinger came from his 10th starting spot to secure the runner-up finish ahead of Tom Wyckoff, point leader Scott Geesey who started 14th and Adam Wrey.
Completing the top ten finishers were Kenny Edkin, Jay Fannasy, Paul Miller, Russ Mitten and Tony Jackson. Mitten earned the Hard Charger award after starting 24th using his nephew Timmie Barrick’s race car. Mitten blew the motor in his own No. 77 during heat race action.
Heats for the 30 Super Sportsman were won by Rick Barr, Beidel and Davey Walsh.
In what was billed as one of the best races in history at the track, Boyertown, PA driver Randy Stoudt came away with the win in the 25-lap Precise Racing 358 Late Model feature.
Chase Billet led the first seven laps before Charlie Potts took over. Potts’ lead was short-lived as Billet regained the lead on lap 20 as 10th starting Stoudt and Randy Christine, Jr. went three wide for the top spot as the trio raced through the third and fourth corners during lap 20.
Stoudt gained control of the event with 21 laps complete and drove off from the field to post his second straight and third overall win of the year about the Leinbach Motorsports No. NINE machine.
Billet finished second ahead of Christine with 16th starting DJ Myers coming home fourth ahead of Potts with Steve Billet, Shaun Jones, Sam Gallagher, Travis Mease and Kyle Lear rounding out the top ten.
Potts, Lear and C. Billet won heats for the 25 late models. Jason Nace won the consolation.
Alex Updegraff came from his 11th starting spot to post the win in the 50-lap Xtreme Stock feature. Updegraff’s second win of the year came after taking the lead on lap 32 and driving to the win over Matt Wampler, Brian Rehbein, Michael Smith (who led the first 31 laps) and John Frye.
Susquehanna Speedway returns to action on Saturday July 2 with a huge racing program highlighted by the Firecracker 40 presented by Dellingers Auto Body for the Credit Connection Auto Sales Super Sportsman and the Topless 40 for Late Models sponsored by Harbaugh Amusement Machine and Creekside Auto Sales. The Street Stocks are also on the July 2 program and it will also be EMMR Night at the speedway. .Pits open at 2PM with grandstands opening at 4PM and racing beginning at 7PM.
