BILL GARDNER SPRINTACULAR AT LINCOLN PARK FRIDAY

From USAC

This Friday night’s 2nd Annual “Bill Gardner Sprintacular” at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. featuring the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship celebrates the memory of the founder of the popular Indiana Open Wheel.com Forum which has served the racing community for many years.

Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Okla. enters Friday night’s race with a 59-point lead in the latest series standings. Bacon registered the 100th USAC Sprint Car victory for his team, Dynamics, Inc. last Thursday at the Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex (95 National, 2 Midwest and 3 Special Event).

Bacon caught Dave Darland on lap 15 Thursday night at Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex and led the rest of the way in his Mean Green/Lykins Oil Triple X/Williams Mopar. Robert Ballou took second ahead of Chase Stockon, C.J. Leary and Darland.

Chad Boespflug of Hanford, Calif. led all but the first lap of Friday’s “Rumble in the Bullring” at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway in his NineEight Motorsports/EZR Creative Finishing/Midwest Shades Maxim/Clayton. Bacon was second ahead of Darland, Thomas Meseraull and Robert Ballou.

Ballou, of Rocklin, Calif., led all 30 laps of Saturday’s race at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kans. in his Blakesley Auto/Rossie Feed & Grain Maxim/Ott. Bacon was again second ahead of Darland, Meseraull and Windom.

Meseraull, of San Jose, Calif., caught Bacon heading to the white-flag Sunday at Lakeside and ended up in victory lane in his Marion Underground Construction/Zeller Construction DRC/Dynotech. Trailing the runner-up Bacon were Windom, Stockon and Boespflug.

Winners of ProSource Fast Qualifier Awards were Stockon (2), Leary and Meseraull. KSE Hard Chargers this past week included Chapple, Meseraull, Darland and Bret Mellenberndt. Boespflug earned the Weld Racing $1000 bonus at Lakeside Sunday.

USAC continues to thank the following for their support as heat race sponsors: Simpson Race Products, Competition Suspension, Benic Enterprises and Indy Race Parts.
