ASCS Red River Southbound To Arkansas and Texas

TULSA, Okla. (July 11, 2016) The American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products heads out of the “Sooner State” for stops in western Arkansas and north Texas as the series makes its return to the Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark. on Friday, July 15 and Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas on Saturday, July 16.

The only Sprint Car show on the schedule for the Texarkana 67 Speedway in 2016, the Arkansas oval last saw ASCS competition with the former ASCS Lone Star Region on May 11, 2013 with Tim Crawley wheeling to Victory in the Ward Racing No. 88. Marking a statement of Arkansas talent, Zach Pringle finished runner-up.
The second attempt at action at the Superbowl Speedway this season, the Red River Region first visited the Texas quarter-mile on April 11, 2015 with Seth Bergman charging from 11th to victory over Blake Hahn and Tony Bruce, Jr.
Just off the 2016 Sooner Sweep, Brandon Hanks extended his points lead to 191 markers over defending series champion, Kade Morton. With nine winners in 13 nights of racing, Hanks’ Lawton score puts him as one of three with duel wins on the season; joining Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Wayne Johnson.
Fred Mattox, who added his name to the roster of winners in 2016 this past Thursday at Creek County Speedway, holds third in standings with Jake Greider and Chance Morton completing the top-five.
Closing to victory on Saturday at Lawton, Mickey Walker is sixth. Charles McManus, Jared Sewell, John Carney II, and Blake Hahn complete the top-ten in driver standings.
Friday, July 15 at Texarkana 67 Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with Racing getting underway at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Adult admission is $20 with kids 6-12 admitted into the grandstands for only $5. The night’s card also includes Limited Modifieds, Four Cyl., Junior Four Cyl., and Factory Stocks.
