Taylor Earns Fifth Victory of the Season

Inside Line Promotions – FORT MORGAN, Colo. (Aug. 9, 2016) – Zac Taylor overcame an early race incident at Phillips County Raceway on Friday before he used a late-race restart to storm into the lead and earn his fifth win of the season.

Taylor was back in the seat of his family’s 305ci winged sprint car for a pair of races last weekend, when the action began at the oval in Holyoke, Colo., with Taylor advancing from fourth to win a heat race. That lined him up on the inside of the second row for the main event.

“At the start of the feature the front row guys got together and I got into one of them and it bent the nerf bar back into my tire,” he said. “I went to the pits and got it pulled out and I restarted sixth and worked my way up to third when a caution came out. On the restart I just drove into turn one hard and took the lead. The car was fantastic.”

Taylor’s win was his fifth trip to Victory Lane and his 12th top five of the season.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at I-76 Speedway, where Taylor placed fourth in a heat race to line up eighth in the main event.

“There was hardly any passing,” he said. “The feature went green to checkered. I’m amazed I made it up to third.”

Taylor passed five cars to score a podium finish.

He is slated to return to action this Saturday at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colo.
