With only four night left on the season, including this weekend, the battle at Heart O’ Texas Speedway is a wrap up to the Waco Metals Shootout Series, which has awarded points at every appearance so far by the Gulf South Region at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway.

Going into the final night of the series, Channin Tankersley has been perfect thus far with 300 points. Channin is aiming for his share of a $3,000 bonus fund.
Along with the Waco Metals Shootout, the driver of the G3 Boats No. 14 leads the overall standing with the ASCS Gulf South Region with 121 point advantage over Tommy Bryant with five time Gulf South Champion, Ray Allen Kulhanek, third. Jacob Lucas and Zane Lawrence complete the top-five in tour standings. Michael McNeil, Dustin Gates, Cody Stacy, J.J. Simmons, and Harry Yerington make up the Top 10.
The season’s second trip to the Lone Star Speedway, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. claimed the top spot on May 29 ahead of Johnny Herrera and Channin Tankersley. As with every ASCS Gulf South double header, a $1,000 bonus is up for grabs should a driver sweep the weekend. Tankersley has claimed the prize twice in 2016 thanks to Cooper Racing and Challenger Drilling.
