Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, Mason Moore capped of an impressive regular season at the ¼ mile speedway as a second place finish in the feature event netted him his first career Placerville Speedway Track Championship.

“I’m excited to win my first career championship,” Moore said. “This team gave me a great car every week, and our consistency was definitely rewarded.”

Saturday night, Moore would open his night up by timing the Geico Local Office/LRB Race Products/NAAKE Suspension backed No. x1 machine in third fastest.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Princeton, CA native would finish in the fourth spot and earn a spot in the redraw fro the final point race of the season at the Placerville Speedway.

Pulling the three pill, Moore would line up in the second row of the 25-lap feature event. Getting into the second spot, Moore would find himself battling with 2015 track champ, Greg DeCaires. With the duo continuing to fight hard, Moore would continue to run in the third spot until making his move into the second spot late in the feature event.

Once in second, race leader Andy Forsberg had built up a comfortable lead, and Moore would hang on to finish in the second spot and celebrate his first track title.

Moore was also in action on Friday night as he climbed aboard his Mason Moore Racing entry and checked in at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for one final tune up before the Gold Cup Race of Champions.

Timing the Coors Light/Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office No. 22 machine in third quick, Moore would pocket a fourth place finish in his heat race.

Finding himself on the front row of the feature event following the redraw, Moore would fall to the second spot as he chased after the early leader, Sean Becker.

Holding down the second spot, Moore would see Bud Kaeding and Kyle Hirst both get by him as he would fall back to the fourth spot as he found himself battling amidst some stiff competition.

Running in the fourth spot, a wild finish would see Sean Becker get out of shape in front of Moore, and as he took evasive action DJ Netto would get by him. Though he would lose a spot to Netto, Moore would get by Becker and bring home a fourth place finish.

“It has really been a great season in both cars,” Moore said. “With us still chasing the Civil War Championship, we still have some big races ahead so we will continue to work hard and finish this season out strong in both cars.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
