BILLINGS, Mont. (Aug. 30, 2016) – Sprint car fans in Montana are in for a treat in less than two weeks when Billings Motorsports Park hosts the final weekend of the NSA Shootout.

The 3/8-mile oval welcomes Hall of Fame racers Sammy Swindell and Danny Lasoski during the two-day spectacle on Sept. 9-10, when the opening night will pay $2,000 to win and the finale $7,500 to win and $500 to start.

“We are really excited that Sammy Swindell and Danny Lasoski are coming to BMP,” Billings Motorsports Speedway Owner Mike Quigley said. “Both are champion drivers who rarely make it to Montana. This very well could be the final time in their storied careers they race here so it’s a huge deal for sprint car racing in this area of the country.”

It’s been more than a decade since either of the legends has raced at Billings Motorsports Park and it won’t be a cakewalk for either driver to claim the stout paydays. A tough contingent of regional racers along with national caliber drivers Travis Rilat of Texas and Trey Starks of Washington State will also vie for the top prize.

Starks is the most recent NSA Shootout winner and he enters the weekend with a chance to earn bonus money along with Canada’s Kelly Miller and Texas native Aaron Reutzel. If any of those three drivers sweeps the weekend to earn three total NSA Shootout triumphs it will net a $1,000 bonus.

Rilat, who is the only driver to record a podium finish during all three NSA Shootout features, enters the weekend leading the event points standings.

“We’ve had three great NSA Shootout races with three different winners so there are a lot of storylines,” Quigley said. “You have Sammy Swindell and Danny Lasoski with guys like Travis Rilat and Trey Starks traveling to the area to take on our regional racers like Kelly Miller and David Hoiness. I think the stage is set for a can’t miss weekend.”

Online tickets are on sale for the two-day spectacle at Billings Motorsports Park at http://www.BMPSpeedway.com. Adult tickets are $20 for Friday ($17 pre-buy) and $25 for Saturday ($21 pre-buy) and $10 each night ($7 per night pre-buy) for children ages 7 to 11. Children ages 6 and younger get in free. There’s also a pre-buy bundle for the weekend providing adult tickets for both nights for only $37 and children ages 7 to 11 for only $11 total.
