Returning to the Keller Auto Speedway on Saturday night with the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h, Cory Eliason returned to his winning ways as the Kingsburg, CA driver picked up his seventh win of the 2016 season in convincing fashion.

“I really have to thank Harley Van Dyke for everything he does for me,” Cory Eliason said. “He works hard to give me a fast racecar, and I do what I can to put the car in victory lane and fortunately we were able to do that on Saturday.”

Timing the Lucas Oil/Hansen Machine/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 5h in fifth fastest in time trials, Eliason would race his way to a heat race win and make himself eligible for the Dash.

Having a little luck on his side, Eliason would pull the one pill for the Dash putting the Maxim Chassis/Moyle Racing Engines powered machine on the front row of the six-lap affair. Taking car of business from the front row, Eliason would take the win and put himself on the front row of the 30-lap feature event.

Starting alongside Dominic Scelzi, Eliason would slip back to the third spot though would keep the lead duo in his sights. Getting into traffic, Eliason would take the second spot and close in on the race leader.

On the 12th lap, Eliason would make his move exiting turn two and take over the race lead. Hitting his marks out front, Eliason would open up a comfortable lead only to the see the caution flag waive when he came around to take the checkered flag.

With the field on his bumper for a green-white-checkered finish, Eliason would have a great restart as he would drive away to score his seventh feature event win of 2016.

“We had some bad luck last week in Chico, CA, so it was nice to come back out and get the win,” Eliason added. “Again, I really want to the Harley Van Dyke for this opportunity he has given to me this year.”

The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil, Hansen Machine, NAAKE Suspension, Maxim Chassis, and Moyle Racing Engines for their support during the year.
