FAST has 3 huge nights Independence Day weekend racing

The FAST teams head to AtticaRacewayPark in Attica, Ohio Friday, June 30 on Baumann Auto Group/Tusing Builders Fan Appreciation Night which includes general admission tickets for just $10 each along with $1 hot dogs and 50 cent pop corn. Also, after hot laps and qualifications, fans will be allowed entry into the pit area to meet the race teams.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. at AtticaRacewayPark with racing under way at 7:45 p.m.

Fremont Speedway will play host to the FAST teams on Saturday, July 1 as part of “The Track That Action Built’s” Open Wheel Shoot Out that features all sprint cars on Willie’s Sales and Service Night. Fans will not only be entertained by the FAST 410 and 305 teams but the 360ci sprints of the K&N Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders/Great Lakes Super Sprints all for just $15 general admission. The FAST 410 sprints will battle for $3,000 to win while the NRA/GLSS sprints vie for $2,000 to win and the FAST 305 sprints $1,000 to win.

Gates will open Saturday at 4 p.m. with racing under way at 7 p.m.

Then Monday, July 3, the FAST teams head south to WaynesfieldRacewayPark in Waynesfield, Ohio as part of the Summer Sprint Sizzler. The FAST 410 teams will vie for $3,000 to win with the FAST 305 competitors battling for $1,000 to win on the high banked quarter mile track. The event includes the NRA/GLSS 360 sprints battling for $4,000 to win. As an added attraction, the Ohio Sprint Car Series (OSCS) will also share the 410 sprint billing.

Pit gates will open Monday at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates at 4 p.m.

“Fans will get to see a lot of sprint car racing and won’t have to travel very far and the ticket prices are very family friendly. We are excited to continue the ‘North verses south’ sprint car battle with the OSCS…this time on neutral territory at Waynesfield. Our point battles will really heat up this weekend as well,” said Rich Farmer, FAST President.

Fremont, Ohio’s DJ Foos continues to lead the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics points. Foos, who has four top five finishes in series competition this year including a win at AtticaRacewayPark, is coming off a highly successful Ohio Sprint Speedweek. The Jay Kiser owned team scored four top 10 finishes and a pair of top five runs during speedweek, including a podium finish at Atomic Speedway on June 24.

Sandusky, Ohio’s Chris Andrews is just 21 points behind Foos. The Burmeister Racing driver has three top five finishes and six top 10 runs in FAST competition. Genoa, Ohio’s Brian Lay has the family owned #45 sitting in third in the points with a series win at Fremont to go with a pair of top five and three top 10 finishes.

Napoleon, Ohio’s Tyler Gunn sits fourth in the FAST points in the family owned #68G with three top five finishes and four top 10 runs. Duane Zablocki of Tiffin, Ohio has the family #9Z fifth in FAST points with a top five and four top 10 finishes. Fostoria, Ohio’s Shawn Valenti has powered the GMS Motorsports #7 to sixth in FAST points with Stuart Brubaker aboard the family owned #35, rookie Dan McCarron driving the family owned #22m, Jody Keegan in his own #60 and Pennsylvania’s Adam Kekich aboard the Mike Kekich owned #5K rounding out the top 10 in FAST points.

Four time FAST champion Byron Reed, despite missing three series events, sits 11th in the point standings with a series win at Fremont to go with four top five and five top 10 finishes. Dalton, Ohio’s Lee Jacobs has the John Lewis owned #81 12th in FAST points despite missing three series events because of a top five and four top 10 finishes. Back to racing after having to take several weeks off due to engine woes, Wooster, Ohio’s Trey Jacobs is 13th in FAST points.

In the JLH General Contractor FAST 305 Championship Series presented by Engine Pro, defending champion Paul Weaver holds a 39 point advantage. Weaver, driver of the family owned #1w, has racked all three series wins so far this season. Gibsonburg, Ohio’s Nate Dussel, a two time FAST champion, sits second in the series points, scoring a pair of top five and three top 10 finishes aboard the George Dussel Racing owned #1.

Fremont’s John Ivy has driven the Sipe family’s #77i to three top five finishes in FAST competition to claim the third spot in the series point standings with Sandusky, Ohio’s Kyle Capodice aboard the Phil Capodice owned #12 recording a pair of top five finishes to sit fourth in the points. Elmore, Ohio’s Alvin Roepke has driven his #99 to one top five finish to hold down the fifth spot in points.

Kelsey Ivy has the Nate Colson owned #20i sixth in series points with a top five and two top 10 finishes. Cody Bova has recorded a top 10 finish aboard the Joe Bova owned #20B to sit seventh in series points with Jason Keckler scoring a pair of top 10 finishes in his own #25 to take the eighth spot in FAST points.

Rounding out the top 10 are Tyler Street in the family owned #4*, and Seth Schneider in the family owned #36 and Jamie Miller in the Tim Merrill owned #66 tied for 10th.

The rest of the FAST 305 standings are: 12th – Bobby Clark; 13th – rookie Chase Dunham and Kevin Mingus; 15th – Dustin Rall; 16th – Landon LaLonde and George Englert; 18th – Brad Keckler; 19th – rookie Justin Adams; and 20th – Ricky Peterson.
