Grosz and Lindberg Win First of Season at Jackson Motorplex

JACKSON, Minn. (July 7, 2017) – Jackson Motorplex showcased new names and familiar faces in Victory Lane on Friday during Kenny Schrader Night.

Lee Grosz and Jesse Lindberg each scored their first win of the season at the half-mile oval while Brandon Beckendorf won his second straight race, Matthew Looft claimed his fourth consecutive event and D.J. Clinton garnered his third A Main triumph in a row.

Grosz used a late-race pass to capture the 360ci winged sprint car main event that was co-sanctioned by the Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series. Grosz became the fourth different winner in five 360 races at Jackson Motorplex this season.

Gregg Bakker placed second with Chris Martin advancing from 10th to third. Jody Rosenboom finished fourth and Ryan Bickett rallied from 14 th to fifth.

Cody Ledger, Kaley Gharst and Skylar Prochaska were the heat race winners.

Lindberg became the seventh different Heartland Steel RaceSaver 305 Sprints winner in nine races this season. Trevor Serbus ended in the runner-up position with Bruce Anderson third and Michael Stien fourth. Points leader Kaleb Johnson maneuvered from 12th to fifth.

Lindberg and Chris Duffy both produced a heat race triumph.

Beckendorf charged from 11th to earn his third Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA a mods win in the last four races to increase his lead in the championship standings. Kelly Shryock powered from 12th to a runner-up result with Jeff Larson maneuvering from 15th to third. Don Gerritsen Jr. placed fourth and James Slawson was fifth.

Slawson, Denny Anderson and NASCAR veteran Kenny Schrader each won a heat race.

Looft took over sole possession of the Bohl’s Small Engine IMCA sport mods standings thanks to his fourth victory in a row. Dan Paplow finished second with Kyle Steuber, Jason Andrews and Clay Evans rounding out the top five, respectively.

Paplow and Steuber both picked up a heat race win.

Clinton recorded his third victory during the fifth Fairmont Awards IMCA hobby stocks event of the season to add to his lead in the championship standings. Justin Luinenburg ended second with Malik Sampson third, Trevor Holm fourth and Matt Olsen fifth.

Clinton and Luinenburg were the heat race winners.

Jackson Motorplex will host 410 Sprints Fueled by Casey’s General Store, Heartland Steel RaceSaver 305 Sprints, Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA a mods, Bohl’s Small Engine IMCA sport mods and Fairmont Awards IMCA hobby stocks next Friday during ASI Night.
