SUN PRAIRIE, Wi. (July 13, 2017) — The “3rd annual Norm Nelson Classic” is slated for this Sunday Night July 16 at Angell Park Speedway, and will feature three divisions: The IRA Bumper to Bumper Outlaw Sprint Cars Series, Mid-State Equipment/ Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series, and the Wisconsin Dirt Racing Legends.
The race will honor Norm Nelson who won the first-ever midget feature at the track on June 2, 1946. Nelson’s career is also highlighted by: three USAC National Stock Car Championships, and thirty-five USAC Stock Car wins. Nelson is also a former IRA Champion.
Grandstands open at 4:30 pm, practice and qualifying beginning at 5:30 pm, with racing to follow.
