CHICO, Ca. (July 18, 2017) – This Friday night, July 21st, the Silver Dollar Speedway will host FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT. Each fan will be admitted into the front grandstand for just $1.00. That is correct, just $1.00 per person! This Friday night’s show will feature winged 360 sprint cars, Earl’s Plumbing Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, Economy Winged Sprint Cars and non-wing 600’s. On top of the five-division show, the annual demonstration by the Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team will take place during intermission. The grandstand fans get a front row show to the amazing work done by the Search and Rescue Team.

Front grandstand gate is set to open at 6 PM. Racing is slated to begin at 7 PM. Once again, the admission price for tonight’s show is just $1.00 per person.

Thanks to the support from the Silver Dollar Speedway, the Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team will be holding a “Fill the Backpack” fundraiser. Our team will have information available about joining our all-volunteer organization and detailing the many services we provide the community. There will be static displays of some of the Team’s equipment, and if timing allows, there may even be a special demonstration of our Team’s capabilities. If you have ever considered joining our elite team of volunteers, this would be a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our members and catch a glimpse of what we do.

The winged 360 sprint cars will be led by nine-time Civil War Sprint Car champions Andy Forsberg of Auburn. Joining Forsberg is six-time track champion Sean Becker of Roseville. Chico will be represented by Michael Ing and Brad Bumgarner. Redding’s Chase Majdic and Sacramento’s Kalib Henry should also be drivers attending this race.

Chico’s Phil Marino leads the Street Stock charge this Friday night. Marino holds a comfortable 20-point edge over Gary Newman.

Earl’s Plumbing Hobby Stocks point leader Kyle Allen of Cherokee is 30-points ahead of Magalia’s Shannon Collins.

Paradise’s Mike Ficklin is 33-points in favor of Chico’s Wyatt Brown during the Winged Economy sprint car battle. Chico’s Mike Sayre is a close third.

For the second time this season, we are hosting the 600’s. This wingless class open 600cc engines out of your everyday street bike, uses methanol fuel and the chassis are just a smaller version of sprint cars. This division offers close, tight-knit racing, that fans will enjoy.
