KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 12, 2017) – James McFadden managed to keep his hopes of making the Saturday night feature at the 57th Annual 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores by winning the C-Main. McFadden held off multiple challenges from Bill Balog for the victory.

Balog led the field into turn one, but by the time the field came around to complete the first lap McFadden swept to the outside to take the lead.

As the leaders started to encounter slower traffic 10 laps into the evening Balog closed back in on McFadden to challenge for the lead. Balog made his move into turn one with two laps to go, but could not make the pass. This dropped Balog back and allowed Brady Bacon to challenge Balog for the second spot.

Up front McFadden pulled away through traffic for the victory. Bacon used a final lap surge to take the runner up spot from Balog. Jac Haudenschild held on for the fourth and final transfer spot.
