For the fourth consecutive year, Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota, was voted the “Driver of the Year” by the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers.

Three of the top 15 on Super Shox at the Wednesday Chili Bowl
Kevin Swindell made his first trip down Chili Bowl lane glory Wednesday night by winning the feature and setting himself up for a good starting spot on Saturday night. As the night went on the track got a little wider and slicker but still had enough of a cushion for Kevin to use. With spot on driving and a good set up he wheeled around the indoor track perfectly for 25 laps to take the win.

Bobby East Finishes Fifth in Tuesday Chili Bowl Prelim Feature
Bobby East survived a frustrating start to his evening but recovered to claim the checkered flag in a qualifying race before moving on to a fifth-place finish in Tuesday night’s 25-lap qualifying feature for the 2010 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

Following some very well received receptions during the past 24 months at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, curator Tom Schmeh has established a series of monthly get-togethers for 2010 entitled “Sprint Car 101”. The programs will be held on the third Thursday of each month, beginning on Thursday, January 21, with a “Salute to Bob Trostle”.

Darrah Begins Rookie Season with DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia
Racing against tough competition night in and night out will be nothing new for Cody Darrah this coming season as he contends for the World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award, beginning at the 39th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH at Volusia Speedway Park, February 5-7. For each of the last four seasons he has raced in Central Pennsylvania against stout competition wherever he went and won his fair share of races, while continuing to hone his skills behind the wheel.
