Charlotte, N.C.—April 3, 2012 — Hendrickcars.com has partnered with Kraig Kinser for the remainder of the 2012 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season. Kinser, who drives the No. 11K, owned by his father, 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser at Steve Kinser Racing (SKR) is currently fifth in the series standings.
Hendrickcars.com offers 20,000 new and used cars, trucks, SUVs, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. The site also features classic cars available from Hendrick Motorsports’ owner and Hendrick Automotive Group’s Chairman Rick Hendrick’s personal collection. Hendrickcars.com also has one physical location in Charlotte, N.C. featuring access to 5,000 pre-owned cars at every price point. A second Hendrickcars.com dealership will open in Hickory, N.C. later this month.
“I am thrilled to have Hendrickcars.com join us at SKR,” said Kraig Kinser. “Having a name and a brand that is recognized worldwide like Hendrickcars.com on our car is definitely an honor and a great thing for the entire sport of sprint car racing. We are really looking forward to building on the strong start to the season that we’ve had and battle for wins all year long.”
“We’re passionate about cars – selling them and seeing them on a race track,” said Chris Little, Director of Variable Operations for Hendrick Automotive Group. “Kraig is an excellent driver and his family has such a rich history in racing. We’re looking forward to working with him and selling more cars to the loyal and passionate sprint car fan base.”
Kinser is a third-generation sprint car driver, following in the footsteps of his father Steve and grandfather Bob. The native of Bloomington, Ind., who won sprint car racing’s biggest event, the Knoxville Nationals in 2005, has 10 career World of Outlaws A-Feature wins at eight different tracks with the series. He claimed the World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award in 2004, his first full year on the road with the tour.
“It’s a big boost for us to have Hendrickcars.com on board,” said Kinser. “It definitely puts an extra bounce in our step and smile on our face. Knowing that we have their support will make the year go a lot smoother, that’s for sure.”
The World of Outlaws will compete nearly 80 times this season from coast-to-coast, as well as in Canada. Kinser will have a couple of opportunities to race in Charlotte, near the headquarters of Hendrickcars.com, as the World of Outlaws visit The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Friday, May 25 for the May Showdown, and then return for the season-ending Lowes Foods World Finals, Nov. 1-3. In his career at the state-of-the-art four-tenths-mile, Kinser has four Top-10 finishes, including a runner-up performance in the finale of the 2008 World Finals.
