ARDC TO RUN TWIN 20’s AT SUSQUEHANNA SPEEDWAY PARK

By Steve Williams

The ARDC Midgets will celebrate Halloween in April this Sunday at Susquehanna Speedway Park. The Wingless Midgets, as part of the Sprint Car Spring Classic will run, last Octobers, rained out Candybowl Race 20 lap feature, as well as a complete points paying program.

Marking the return of the popular Central Pennsylvania 410 Sprint Cars to Susquehanna Speedway Park the Sprint Car Spring Classic will also be the first of several 2010 events, where the Midgets share the card with Sprint Cars.

A persistent drizzle halted the season opener, for ARDC, at Big Diamond Raceway last weekend, after all the qualifying events were completed. That feature will be made up as part of the double header show on Sunday May 2nd along with the O’Reilly All Stars Circuit of Champions.

Several drivers have already served notice to returning champion, Frank Polimeda of Robesonia, PA, that two in a row will not be easy, including PJ Gargiulo who beat Polimeda in last weeks, first heat race, by a scant .429 seconds. York’s Drew Heistand finished a close third, while Bruce Buckwalter Jr. finished fourth. Billy Pauch Jr. won the second heat and Steve Buckwalter, picked up the win in the third heat. Tracy Readinger won the consolation.

It was Steve Buckwalter, 2009’s leading feature winner, that picked up the win in last years run at Susquehanna with Gargiulo finishing second.

Pit gates open at 3:30pm with racing action getting underway at 6:00pm

ARDC RACER P.J. GARGIULO KICKS OFF 2010 RACING AGAINST CANCER

ARDC Midget driver PJ Gargiulo has announced that throughout the 2010 race season Gargiulo Racing will be working with other drivers in Motorsports to promote various charitable foundations.

PJ has developed a fundraising program with TEAMRTP.COM for a foundation called the Racing Against Cancer Team (RAC).

Together, they are looking for people willing to make a $5 commitment and also pledge to donate an additional $1 for every car that PJ passes during select events. All proceeds will go to the Racing Against Cancer Team.

The first event is a make-up feature at Susquehanna Speedway in Newberrytown, PA on Sunday April 11th. PJ has a long history of finishing very well at Susquehanna, and is set to start 17th in this event so “There is an opportunity to raise a lot of money!” said Gargiulo.

This gives you even more reason to root for PJ on race day. The better he runs on the racetrack, the more money we all raise to help in the fight against cancer!
