ARDC will travel into western Pennsylvania this weekend to compete at Clinton County Raceway and Mercer Raceway Park.
The first stop on the trip out Route 80 will be Friday July 30th at Clinton County Raceway where the wingless midgets will be on the program with the 410 Xpress Sprint Car Series sanctioned by the ASCS Patriots. Also on the card are the Pro Stocks
Stop number two will be at the Mercer Raceway Park for the Sprint Slug-Out with the DIRTcar Sprint Challenge Series. Modifieds, Stocks and Mini Stocks will also be in competition.
Steve Buckwalter leads the ARDC with 6 wins but has had some serious competition from Ryan Smith and cousin Bruce Buckwalter Jr. in recent weeks. S. Buckwalter who is also the points leader has Drew Heistand nipping at his heels. Heistand, who has a third and two second place finishes in the last three races has yet to win this year but after installing a new Esslinger engine under the hood will be tough to keep out of victory lane, for long.
After spending many hours on the road, Bloomsburg’s Eric Heydenreich, Selinsgrove’s Steve Lenig and Wampum’s Joe Butera will finally get the advantage of a home game.
Heydenreich, who was the winner at Lincoln Speedway during the USAC tour is a member of the famed Heydenreich racing family from Bloomsburg, PA. The bullring at Clinton County with no outside guardrails in the corners will compliment his high riding style
Lenig, spends his free time with his sons racing Micro Sprints at Clinton County. After successful careers in Drag Racing and Micro Sprints, the Sunbury,PA body shop owner is looking to pick up his first win of the season.
Butera, who is making his first foray into midgets spent several years racing 410 Sprint Cars in Western PA.
Racing, both evenings, gets underway at 7:00pm.
