Valley Speedway Prepares for Weld Family Memorial

Grain Valley, MO — Valley Speedway has finalized details for the second annual Weld Family Memorial Sprint Car Nationals set for Friday and Saturday September 17 & 18. Like the 2009 inaugural running of the WFN, each night will have complete programs. Different will be the format in general. Both nights will feature non-winged sprint cars with an open engine rule. Sprint cars with a 305 ci, 360 ci or a 410 ci power plant will race together.

The Friday night show will have a 25 lap sprint car feature that will pay $750 to win and $100 to start. Along with the sprint cars will be winged 600cc micro sprints and Valley street stocks in support.

The Saturday night show will have a 30 lap sprint car feature that will pay $1000 to win and $ 125 to start. Valley B Mods and Dirt Demons will fill out the program.

In addition to the posted purse, an added “Bounty” will be paid to the top 3 finishing 305 powered cars both nights. Should a 305 win the event, the driver will earn an additional $500 bonus.

Friday night’s schedule starts with the pit gate opening at 5:00 PM – grandstands open at 6:00 PM – drivers meeting at 7:00 PM – Hot laps at 7:30 Pm with racing to follow.

Saturday night’s schedule starts with the pit gate opening at 4:00 PM – grandstands open at 5:00 PM – drivers meeting at 6:00 PM – Hot laps at 6:30 Pm with racing to follow.

Adult admission is $15 – Kids 6-12 $5 Pit Passes $25 both nights

Sprint car rules: No wings. A functioning muffler is mandatory. And the right rear tire must durometer at 40.
