BCRA MIDGETS PART OF LUCAS OIL SUMMER NATIONALS AT MADERA SPEEDWAY JULY 16

By Robert Haugh

The Lucas Oil Late Model Pavement Modified Series comes to Madera Speedway Saturday July 16, 2011 for the Lucas Oil Summer Nationals. The night’s events will be shared with Dirt Late Model’s running on the pavement, Madera Speedways 410/360 Super Modified Series and the Bay Cities Racing Association Midgets.

All the night’s events will be taped for the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour on the Outdoor Channel and one series will be aired along with the Lucas Oil Pavement Modified Series. The Midgets have always been a crowd favorite at Madera Speedway, and this year’s previous event had no lack of excitement as well. Scott Pierovich picked up the win, leading the final 10 laps after battling early leader Kody Swanson.

Madera Speedway is the home of the infamous Gerhardt Classic 100 lap Midget event, and the Midgets get around the 1/3 mile paved oval in the 13 second bracket at an average speed of almost 90 miles per hour.
