Jake Blackhurst of Mapleton, Ill. leads the Mopar USAC D1 Midget Series to Wednesday night’s “Elite 8 Series” program presented by IUPUI at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedrome. He is 16 points ahead of Taylor Ferns in the latest series standings.
The series also returns to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisc. Sunday night as the series completes a week where it will appear on pavement (Speedrome) and dirt (Angell Park).
Bryan Nuckles of Columbus, Ohio led all 50 laps Wednesday night to win the USAC Mopar D1 Midget race at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome. He this joins his father Jerry and uncle Jeff as USAC feature event winners.
Trailing Nuckles’ Columbus Motor Speedway Beast at the checkered flag were Kyle Hamilton, Blackhurst, Ali Jackson and Mario Marietta.
