MUSEUM SEEKING PHOTOS FOR ITS “SALUTE TO CHAMPION TONY STEWART” SPECIAL EXHIBITION

By Bob Baker

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (July 24, 2011) – Four years ago, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum arranged a popular exhibition entitled “Salute to the Shooters,” which honored sprint car racing photographers, amateur and professional. Now, in late July of 2011, the museum is putting the finishing touches on its five-month “Salute to Champion Tony Stewart” special exhibition and it is again seeking twenty photos from amateur and professional photographers. This time, however, the subject of the photos needs to be Tony Stewart; either on-track, off-track, in America, in Australia, in Canada, on pavement, on dirt, solo, with family, with friends, in open-wheeled cars or in stock cars.

Photographers that have taken a unique and favorite photograph involving “Smoke” and would like to submit it for consideration are urged to send it to curator Tom Schmeh, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, One Sprint Capital Place, P.O. Box 542, Knoxville, Iowa 50138. The photo will become property of the museum and will never be used for commercial gain unless specific approval is given for such, nor will it ever be used without proper photo credit given. Only one photographic entry per photographer will be considered. It should be accompanied by name of photographer, identification of subject material as it relates to Tony Stewart, and date and location that the photo was taken.
