PAVEMENT SPRINTS RETURN TO INDY SEPTEMBER 8

The AMSOIL USAC Pavement Sprint Car Series returns to Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind. September 8 for another “Thursday Night Thunder” event and Bobby Santos III will return as the point leader after re-affirming his position at the top of the standings with a victory at the .686-mile paved oval last Thursday.

Santos, of Franklin, Mass., extended his lead in the 2011 points Thursday with a 30-lap feature win at LOR. Santos trailed Chris Windom for 17 laps, then got by Windom in turn three after a restart and led the final 13 laps in his Santos Motorsports/K & N Filters Beast/Gaerte.

Windom took second ahead of fast qualifier Tanner Swanson, Eric Gordon and JoJo Helberg.
