Mooresville, N.C. drivers Nick Drake and Jarett Andretti emerged from Saturday’s races at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. with USAC driving championships. Drake is the 2011 Eastern Ford Focus Champion, while Andretti claimed the top spot in the Eastern Pavement standings.
Andretti finished third in the two 20-lap series finales, which were won by Jared Irvan of Midland, N.C. Drake did not compete in Saturday’s events.
Irvan led all 20 laps of both races, with fast qualifier Chris Lamb finishing second in each and Andretti third. David Levine and Nic Davidson rounded out the first feature and they switched positions in the closer.
The victories were the first of Irvan’s Ford Focus career. He also won USAC’s 2011 Senior Honda Mopar .25 Midget National Championship.
