One USAC Ford Focus Focus Series ends Saturday at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway, while another conducts its penultimate race. The “Battle at the Beach” includes the USAC Western Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns along with the Mopar USAC Western Midgets.
The Focus Young Guns end their 2011 racing campaign at Ventura, while the Western Ford Focuses wind up the 2011 campaign as part of the November 24 “Turkey Night Grand Prix” events at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Calif.
The best point battle at Ventura involves Tyler Dolacki, who has a 20-point lead over Wally Pankratz in the Western Ford Focus Dirt standings. That champion will be crowned at Ventura.
Brodie Kostecki is the leader in the Western Ford Focus and Western Focus Young Guns points, while Parker Colston has already locked up the Western Young Guns Dirt title.
Nick Drake and Cole Custer have already stamped their names in the record books as the 2011 USAC National Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns Champions.
Feature winners at Ventura so far this year include Custer (2), Colston and Bradley Morris (Focus Young Guns) and Nic Carlson (2), Pankratz and Andrew Mulhearn (Ford Focus).
