The 2012 USAC Eastern Focus Midget schedule announced today lists 16 events at five different speedways, all on pavement.

Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. hosts the openers March 30 and 31 in conjunction with USAC Mopar National Midget events and the closer on September 3. A special three-race “Eastern Midget Week” which includes Concord (N.C.) Motorsports Park, Ace Speedway and Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway in early August highlights the 2012 calendar.

Concord will host a total of nine races between mid-May and early-August, while Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway and Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. join Ace Speedway is hosting races awarding points toward both the Eastern and Midget championships.

Nick Drake of Mooresville, N.C. is the defending USAC Eastern Ford Focus Midget Champion and claimed his second USAC National Ford Focus title in 2011.

“Our Eastern series is shaping up for some really exciting events in 2012, starting with the big two-night event in March at Ace Speedway,” states USAC’s James Spink. “The return of the mid-week schedule at Concord has received positive feedback and we’re looking forward to that as well.”
