SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will present the first four division racing program of the season at 6 p.m. this Saturday, April 7, featuring the A&A Auto Stores 358 sprint cars, Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center late models, Salem RV Center/Byers Built Engines pro stocks, and Collier Paving & Construction roadrunners. Track gates will open at 4 p.m.

This Saturday will also serve as the first points race of the year for both the 358 sprint cars and late models. So far this season, the pro stocks have completed two point races and last weekend the roadrunners made their season debut as part of the Mach 1 Chassis 360 Sprint Car Series opener, in which Pat Cannon of Etters took the checkered flag and will be a top contender for his third career 358 sprint car title at the track.

Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove won his third career 358 sprint car track championship last year, while Jeff Rine of Danville clinched his fifth straight and seventh career late model title in 2011. Heimbach and Rine won three and eight races, respectively, last year.

Rine also established a new all-time win record last season with 72 career victories. This year he will also be seeking to tie Richie Jensen’s record for the most consecutive track titles (six) and Bobby Croop’s record for the most career late model championships (eight).

AJ Hoffman of Richfield won the season opener for pro stocks on March 11 and will be seeking his third consecutive pro stock title. In last weekend’s racing action, Mike Kiehl of Ashland won his first career pro stock feature, while former champion Keith Bissinger of Orangeville won the roadrunner opener. Bob Bussey of Northumberland is the defending roadrunner champion.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park will hold a complete program of go kart racing and the first Selinsgrove Ford micro sprint car race of the season at 7 p.m. this Friday, April 6. Todd Hoover of Mt. Pleasant Mills clinched his third consecutive and fourth career micro sprint car championship last year.
