The 3G Racing team and Shane Stewart continue be a potent pairing as the team was in action during three NRA sanctioned events over the weekend and recorded three straight second place finishes.

“Second might be one of the worst feelings in the world,” said Stewart. “We had a great car and it’s good to be on the podium, but when you’re up here you are a little bitter that you’re not holding the big trophy.”

The three-night stint with the Gaerte/Luck Red Line Oils/DDNI/MediaTile backed machine kicked off Friday night in Lima, OH as they went to work at Limaland.

Starting sixth in his heat, Stewart powered his KPC/SST/All Star Performance machine into the lead, and picked up the win and ended up in the redraw.

Pulling the dreaded six, Stewart would line up on the heavy track in the third row, after they went through a slight rain delay.

Stewart put his entry on the top of the speedway and raced his way to the front of the field as he eyed race long leader, Randy Hannagan.

Stewart couldn’t reach Hannagan in time, and held on to the second spot at the stripe.

“This thing was fast and hooked up tonight with the rain we had,” said Stewart. “Randy started on the front row and took off, and we just couldn’t get up to him in time.”

Saturday night they continued on to Waynesfield, and Stewart again was forced to come from deep in the field.

Lining up in the 10th spot, Stewart moved, and moved fast as he wasted no time breaking into the top five.

On the 12th lap, he had moved around Ron Blair to take over the third spot, and he then made quick work of Randy Hannagan to overtake the second spot on the 16th lap.

Over the final 14 markers Stewart ran through lapped traffic as he chased down Jarrod Horstman, but Horstman adapted to the slicked off surface nicely, and held Stewart at bay.

Sunday night concluded the weekend stint with the 3G team, as they landed at one of Stewart’s favorite tracks, the Eldora Speedway.

Starting sixth in his heat, Stewart again ran through the heat race field and picked up the win, but true to form, his pill draw woes continued as he drew high again, and pulled out the six.

In an identical setting from Friday night in Lima, OH, front row starter, Randy Hannagan, shot out to the lead with a clear track, and Stewart worked his way forward from the sixth spot.

Running with his right rear on the wall, Stewart got into second and looked to chase down Hannagan

As they got through traffic, Hannagan narrowly held the 3G behind him, and Stewart settled for his third consecutive second place finish.

“These guys gave me a great car all three nights, and we should of picked up a couple of these races,” he said. “I made a couple of mistakes that kept us in second, and my pill draws didn’t help anything either.”

Shane and the 3G Motorsports team would like to thank Red Line Oil, Media Tile, DDNi, XYZ Machine, Gaerte Engines, All Star Performance, KPC Chassis, and SST Shocks for their continued support.

ON TAP: Stewart and the Gaerte/Luck 3G will stay together this weekend and take on the World of Outlaws as they hit Attica Raceway Park on Thursday, and I 96 on Saturday.
