Clio, MI — (June 23, 2012) — Charlie Schultz won Saturday’s MSA Super Modified feature Saturday at Auto City Speedway.
Trent Stephens set a new track record for the Super Mods with a lap on the half mile of 13.099. Heat race winners were Kyle Edwards and A.J. Lesieski. Edwards jumped out in front to start the 30-lap feature. But on lap 19 he brought out the caution flag by running under his qualifying time, sending him to the back of the pack. That gave the top spot to veteran Charlie Schultz. Stephens came from the rear and got as close as side-by-side with Schultz, but “Chargin’ Charlie” stayed in front and edged out Stephens to take the win. Rounding out the top 5 were Dave Shullick, Mike Lichty and Moe Lilje.
