SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will return to racing action at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, July 28, with a four division show of 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners on Race-For-A-Cure / Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Night.

The 358 sprint cars will compete in two 25-lap features, with one of them being the make-up event from last Saturday’s postponement. The late models will also be showcased in a 25-lap feature, while the pro stocks and roadrunners will race in 15- and 12-lap main events, respectively.

17-year-old rookie pro stock driver Nathan Long of Selinsgrove, who was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of five, is coordinating the fundraising night along with 16-year-old Krista Paige of Middleburg as part of their high school senior projects.

A number of activities will take place Saturday night for fans, with all of the proceeds going to JDRF, including a Chinese auction that will feature prize giveaways from local and national race teams and businesses. A number of drivers have also indicated they will participate in a pre-race autograph session and a helmet collection later in the evening to raise funds for the JDRF.

In addition, Selinsgrove Ford, Salem RV Center, NRG Controls North, and Keller’s Auto Body have contributed a total of $2,750 toward purse increases for Saturday night’s race divisions. H&H Racing Equipment and Custom Metal Coatings have also contributed gift certificates that will be awarded to race teams.

The Middleburg IGA will provide a cake for the feature winners as part of the check presentation to the JDRF.

Founded in 1970, JDRF’s mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through research. JDRF has funded more than $1.6 billion for diabetes research.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park will be in action at 7 p.m. Friday, July 27, with go karts and micro sprints. The Pennsylvania Dirt Karters Series (PDKS) will make its second stop of the season at 8 a.m. Sunday, July 29.
