Port Royal – Can Daryn Pittman take over $30,000 out of Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night?

That’s the question to be answered with the running of the 45th annual AB Auto Glass Tuscarora 50 sanctioned by the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints this weekend.

First on Friday night September 7, Pittman and company will compete in the All Star Night Before The 50 along with the late models before racing in the prestigious Tuscarora 50 on Saturday, September 8.

Pittman, a native of Owasso, Okla., will be gunning for not only his first 50 crown but also for the crown of 2012 All Stars East Region Champion, which carries a $20,000 payday alone.

A combined payoff for Pittman if he pulls off both feats will eclipse $30,000.

However, his nemesis for the Eastern All Star title, Tim Shaffer, is sure to be up to the challenge.

Shaffer, hailing from Aliquippa and racing the CH Motorsports No. 83 sprint car, is Pittman’s archenemy for the 2012 Eastern championship.

Entering the two-day Port Royal All Star Eastern Region Finale Weekend, Shaffer trails Pittman by just 41 points in a quest for the east title.

Pittman will come out with guns blazing for the weekend All Star stand aboard the Heffner Racing No. 27 sprint car.

An adopted PA Posse member, Pittman has picked up six wins to date this season, including a pair over the All Stars.

David Gravel, Watertown, Conn., is also in contention for the $20,000 All Stars East title, sitting 123 points out of the lead.

Friday’s All Star Night Before The 50 feature will go 30 laps in distance and pay $5,000 to win plus full All Star and Port Royal points.

Saturday’s AB Auto Glass 45th annual Tuscarora 50 sanctioned by the All Stars will of course go 50 laps with at least $11,000 going to the winner.

And with laps paying $25 each, more than $1,200 in lap money is also on the line. Plus, a $200 bonus has been posted for the leader at the halfway point.

The 50 will also pay full All Star and Port Royal points as well, thus bestowing the honor of All Stars East and Port Royal season champion when the checkers fall.

Adult admission for The Night Before The 50 is set at $20 with Saturday’s price for adults set at a modest $25 for the high profile, prestigious event.

Students ages 12 – 18 will be admitted for an astounding low price of JUST $5 at both events.
