PORT ROYAL RACESAVER 305 SPRINT ENTRIES ECLIPSE 40 FOR OCTOBER 6th

Port Royal – More than 40 entries have already been logged for the Keystone Racesaver 305 sprint showdown as part of the Blue Collar Classic at Port Royal Speedway slated for October 6 at 4 pm.

Along with the more than 40 Racesaver 305s that are already expected to compete, a large field of 358 late models is also expected for the Saturday show.

Also on the October 6 card are the pro stocks and an enduro dash as well.

Pre-entries for the Racesaver 305 portion of the program have been coming in from far and wide.

Entries to date have been logged from as far away as North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, New York and from Western Pennsylvania.

The final two shows of the Port Royal Speedway season are set for the first two weekends of October, coming up October 6 and 13.

The curtain will fall on the 2012 Port Royal season with the running of the make-up Foss Jewelers Labor Day Classic for 410 sprint cars on October 13 at which time the popular Super Sportsman will compete in a rare late-season Port Royal start for both classes.

The sportsman will compete in a full program on October 13 including a 20-lap main event while the sprint cars will vie for 30 laps in the Classic, paying $4,000 to win and $300 just to start.

Time trials will be part of the sprint program and an open tire rule will be in effect.

A wild Demolition Derby will close out the night and the year.

October 6 finds the Blue Collar Classic for the Racesaver 305 sprints taking center stage along with the 358 late models.

The October 6 Racesaver 305 sprints will compete in a full program of heat races and a 25-lap main.

In addition to the Racesaver 305s, the October 6 invitational format is extended to other divisions on the card in the form of 358 late models, pro stocks and enduro cars.

In the 358 late model class, cars that legally race at Williams Grove, Susquehanna and Hagerstown Speedways will be eligible to compete with home rules in effect.

In the pro stock class, street stocks from Williams Grove and Susquehanna are eligible to compete, again with home track rules in effect.

And in the enduro division, extreme stocks from Susquehanna and roadrunners from Selinsgrove Speedways are eligible to compete, again with home track rules in effect.

Pit gates will open at 2 pm on October 6 with general gates opening at 3 pm followed by warm-ups at 4 and racing at 5.

Adult general admission will be just $12 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at just $5.

October 13 pit gates will open at 3:30 pm with general gates opening at 4 and racing slated for 6 pm.

Adult general admission will be $15 with students again priced at $5.
