With weather on the East coast rearing it’s ugly head over the last two weekends, Lance Dewease and his Heffner Racing team were able to get in a day of action on Saturday at the Lincoln Speedway, where Dewease scored a 10th place finish.

“It was one of those days where we could not get anything to go our way,” Dewease said. “Our car wouldn’t handle and we couldn’t get any grip, and really we struggled.”

With a relatively light car count on hand, Dewease lined his Lelands.com/Conduit Connections/Pasquirellos Auto Shop No.27 up in the third row of his heat.

Using a strong start, Dewease was able to Haas and Leffler to move into the third spot, as he chased down Siegel, and Wilson.

Unable to track down to lead duo, Dewease would end up third, and he would ultimately line his Penske Shocks/Wings Unlimited/Brown and Miller Racing Solutions machine up in the fifth row of the 25-lap feature event due to points handicapping.

When the race went green, the top point contenders around Dewease were able to make some serious ground, by the Fayetteville, PA driver struggled, and remained back in the tenth spot.

“We just were not able to get going, and get moving forward,” he explained.

With an ill-handling racecar, Dewease tried every trick up his sleeve, to get the car to work, but it was to no avail.

Even with a few late restarts, Dewease was a 10th place car, and would go on to finish 10th when the checkered flag flew on lap 25.

“We tried everything we could to get the car working for us,” he said. “Hopefully we will be back up towards the front next weekend, and hopefully the weather gets a little better for us too.”
