Hoping to build off of last weekends top-five-finish, Andy Gregg and his Coors Light/LivFast/GUTS Racing team returned to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, and scored a third place finish.

“Our 360 (engine) program has been great all year,” he said. “We had a little bad luck with it at the start of the year, but the last couple of weeks we have put complete nights together, and came away with great finishes.”

Timing in seventh fastest against the 25 cars on hand, Gregg started fourth in his heat, and scored a third place finish, putting his Meyers and Son/Ervin Sales Group/K&N Backed entry into the feature event, where the six pill put him on the front row.

Sharing the front row with long-time friend, Willie Croft, Gregg settled into second on the start, as Croft grabbed the early advantage.

Using a strong slide job in turns three and four, Gregg put his FK Rod Ends/Eagle Motorsports/King Racing Products machine in the lead, with Croft breathing down his neck.

On the fourth lap, Gregg messed up just a hair in turn four, and allowed Croft the reclaim the lead.

Regrouping, Gregg charged back toward Croft, and didn’t let the leader out of his sights.

Working in thick traffic, Gregg guessed wrong in turns one and two, and went to the top trying to get by a slower car, but Shane Golobic snuck past and took the second spot away.

Over the final few laps, the duo battled for the second spot, but Gregg came up just short, and took home a third place finish.

“It was great battling with Willie Croft and Shane Golobic,” Croft said. “The three of us have raced each other before plenty of times, and it’s nice to know when you can race people close, and hard, and not worry about getting a wheel. We were a strong car, and I’m pleased with our performance. I have some great sponsors who support us, and I’m hoping to get them all a win very soon.”

Andy would like to thank Coors Light, LivFast Clothing Co., GUTS Racing, Meyers and Son Drywall, Ervin Sales Group, K&N Products, FK Rod Ends, Eagle Motorsports, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Hinchman, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and 103.5 The Blaze for their support in 2013.
