Port Royal, PA(April 23, 2013) Fans arriving for the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday will get the chance to meet one of the rising stars of the sport today and one of it’s best in history as Bobby Allen and his grandson Logan Schuchart conduct a meet and greet.

Beginning at approximately 5:15 pm behind the grandstand, Schuchart and Allen, both of Hanover, will be on the scene along with the replica Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 machine that Schuchart will pilot in the prestigious event that is offering a more than $34,000 A Main purse.

The autograph session will last until approximately 6 pm.

Both men are no strangers to either the All Stars or the Weikert car.

Schuchart took his first All Stars wins in the area last season and after being named the 2012 National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, the 20-year old was tapped to pilot the Weikert machine for this year’s event.

Schuchart’s veteran wizard mechanic and driver grandfather, Allen himself piloted the No. 29 for Bob Weikert back in 1978 at a World of Outlaws event before going on to score the 1980 All Stars series title in 1980.

Allen ended his career with 42 All Stars victories to his name.

The first 200 fans entering the stands for the Weikert Memorial will go home with a Weikert’s Livestock hat, courtesy of Weikert’s Livestock of Fairfield, PA.

As has been customary the last few seasons, 20 five-pound packages of prime Weikert’s beef patties will also be given away to adult general admission ticket holders during the night.

And a continuing custom at the 2013 event will be bicycle giveaways for kids ages 11 and under as five girls and five boys bikes will be raffled off.

General admission gates for the race will open at 5 pm with time trials slated for 7.

Adult general admission is just $20 for the fantastic affair and students ages 12 – 18 will be admitted for just $5.

Greg Hodnett is the defending event winner.  Hodnett expects to be in the field this week, making his return from a hand injury sustained a month ago.

The race is run in honor of late hall of fame sprint car owner Bob Weikert and the Weikert Memorial has become one of the shining lights of both the Port Royal and All Stars seasons over the last few years.
