Dayton, OH — (February 17, 2014) — Not everyone is able to make the trek to Daytona Beach, Florida on Sunday, February 23 for the kick-off of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.   Thankfully, through the efforts of the Dayton Auto Race Fan (DARF) club, race fans from around the Gem City area will be able to gather collectively and cheer on their favorite driver in America’s Great Race – the Daytona 500.

Dubbed the Daytona 500 Party at Little York Tavern & Pizza in Vandalia, OH; the event was resurrected with great success by President Rick Monroe last year after a several year lay-off.

Doors to the Daytona 500 Party swing open at Noon, with the green flag dropping on the classic event at 1 p.m.   The fundraising gathering will feature many activities throughout the afternoon as the area’s avid fans watch with intensity as friendly rivals.

Stated DARF Vice-President Jim Gibson, “last year’s event was pretty much put together in hurry just before the 500, yet the results were a great turnout of race fans having fun in a race-like atmosphere. It was a great revival to great Dayton area tradition and we look forward to another classic showdown February 23.”

Admission is open to the public and is free of charge. Little York Tavern and Pizza’s regular menu of food and beverages will be available for purchase.
